Vehicles can be very inspiring stories for customers. An electric motorcycle to deliver pizza, an electric van to deliver furniture. They cost more but interest free loans are available and the business is likely to want to invest money up front when they see the savings they can get.

The Carbon Trust will provide interest free loans for vehicles.

The Energy Savings Trust cannot really help you with vehicles.

Estimate £2000 for an electric scooter and then sort the rest out with a supplier later. As always the technology is changing fast and we are currently working on getting a 9carrots vehicle supplier. See some examples of current scooters and prices.

Estimate £10,000 for an electric car. The business can save up to £7000 / year by switching, especially if they are currently paying congestion charges. See some examples of current (2010) electric cars. The £94k Roadster sports car is not an option!

Electric versions of all commercial vehicles are now available from several manufacturers, such as Smiths Electric Vehicles.  They often cost about twice as much to buy as their fossil-equivalent equivalent but offer significant savings on fuel, road tax and congestion charges.

We don't have an official 9carrots commercial vehicle supplier yet, but in the meantime feel free to contact suppliers and update this section with your findings.
